Pilot Surprises Father On His 81st Birthday With A Special Flight Announcement
In the now-viral video posted by Manik Mehta (@maniakmehta), the IndiGo pilot, while addressing passengers, pointed out that his parents were seated in row 3, seats Bravo and Charlie. Calling him his “role model” and “hero”, the pilot paid tribute to his father’s service in the Indian Army and thanked him for everything he had done. He also said he was honoured to be flying his parents once again, making the journey an especially memorable way to celebrate his father’s 81st birthday.
The announcement became even more meaningful as the pilot revealed that he had previously flown his parents from Agra to Bengaluru. They were now travelling back, giving him another opportunity to have them on board while he was at the controls. The family also shares a connection to Dayalbagh, adding another personal detail to the journey. Before wrapping up his announcement, the pilot asked his parents if they were ready to go, to which they responded enthusiastically. “Let’s go,” he said, before thanking passengers for their attention.
