A SpiceJet passenger has raised concerns over missing services booked under the airline’s SpiceMax offering during a recent flight from Delhi to Dharamshala. The passenger, who is diabetic, said he takes medication in the morning and evening and needs to have his meals on time, making the absence of the booked meal service a concern for him. Here’s what happened.

SpiceJet Passenger Complains Over Missing Meals, Drinks

In a post on X, Sandeep Amar (@sancalls) said he travelled on SpiceJet flight SG2450 with two other people and had paid for SpiceMax services. According to the passenger, the flight did not provide meals or beverages, while priority boarding was also unavailable despite being included in the booking.

The passenger, who said he has diabetes, added that the lack of meal service was particularly concerning as he needs to eat at regular intervals while taking his medication. He said the cabin crew told them that they would receive a refund for the services that were not provided.

The passenger further said that five of the six services listed under their SpiceMax booking were not provided. These included priority services, meal and beverage service, a welcome drink, a refreshing towel, and pillow and blanket facilities. According to his post, extra legroom was the only service provided.

Calls The Airline “Unprofessional”

Sandeep Amar also said that he was scheduled to travel again on SpiceJet flight SG2442 on September 7 from Dharamshala to Delhi. He added that customer care could not confirm whether meal services would be available on the flight.

According to his post, the passenger paid ₹4,500 for each sector, amounting to ₹9,000 in total for the services. He said he emailed SpiceJet on September 2 seeking a refund but had not received a response by September 7. He also said that a complaint made through customer care had not received a response.

The post tagged SpiceJet, the Ministry of Civil Aviation, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol, urging them to look into the matter.

“Spicejet is the most unprofessional organisation, as money is taken, no services and no refund and no communication is there. @DGCAIndia pls take strict action, as they are putting Diabetic passengers like me at medical risk, they need to communicate to me, if a meal is booked, if it will be served or not!! @MoCA_GoI pls take action, they are cheats and openly doing this, how can you allow them to fly in India?” he posted.

The passenger also raised concerns about the grievance redressal process and sought clarity on whether booked meals would be served, particularly for passengers with specific dietary or medical requirements.
