Food is always a part of our meet-ups with friends and family. But of course, if you are a guest, you know how awkward it can get when you are asked to select dishes on platforms like Zomato. You often look at the prices and become unsure about whether to order something or not. To make things easier for guests, Zomato has now launched a new feature called Host Mode. What Is Zomato’s Host Mode?

After building anticipation among users for a week, Zomato has finally launched its new ‘Host Mode’. This feature lets guests order food without seeing the prices. They can browse restaurant menus, pick their favourite dishes and add them to the cart without worrying about how much each item costs. So, no more awkward moments or second thoughts while ordering food.

The best part? Zomato has rolled out this feature across India, so it isn’t limited to any particular city or state. However, hosts must first switch on Host Mode to let their guests use it. The launch also comes at the perfect time. With the festive season in full swing, many of us are hosting friends and family and ordering food online.

How To Use This Feature?

  1. Open the Zomato app and look for the ‘Host Mode’ on the home screen header, restaurant menu page or under Profile.
  2. Under Profile, select Your preferences and then tap on ‘Switch on Host Mode’.
  3. Once switched on, Zomato will hide prices across restaurant menus and the cart. For confirmation, you will see a message that reads, “All prices are hidden in Host Mode.”
  4. Once guests have added their dishes, the host can select ‘Exit host mode to review bill’.
  5. Remember, the host must authenticate using their fingerprint or face lock.
  6. Lastly, the host can check the complete bill and tap on ‘Place Order’ to complete the order.
