Air India has frequently made headlines for their subpar flight experiences. Another such incident recently went viral on social media. It was shared on Instagram and TikTok by Anip Patel who is an Indian-American CEO. His flight was from Chicago to the Indira Gandhi International Airport or IGIA in Delhi. Since he booked the Air India first-class flight, it cost him $6,300 or upwards of ₹5.2 lakh. The high price tag makes the subpar flight experience even more shocking.

The video that Patel shared showed how subpar the maintenance of the flight was. Despite booking a first-class ticket, there was a lot of dirt and dust lodged in places. The vinyl of the seat was torn in some places and even stains that could have been easily cleaned were there.
He was heard saying there was mildew in places on the flight. Even the hot towel that was served to him was cold. He then went on to show that the in-flight entertainment system was down and there was no WiFi available. So for 15 long hours, he did not have any entertainment.
That’s not where it ends! He also said that though their menu looked quite promising, as much as 30 per cent of the items on the menu were unavailable. The freebies that he received were decent enough, he was heard saying but overall, he described the flight experience as a “nightmare.”

Even though he hadn’t filed any official complaint with the airline, Air India gave him a refund of the full amount. He ended the comment by saying that they made it right in the end.
