Zomato is one of the food aggregator apps which we depend on for ordering food. Whether it is in your office or at home, they have brought your food orders. In addition to this, they will be responsible for bringing your pre-order meals to you at railway stations! Zomato and IRCTC have partnered in order to provide passengers with their pre-ordered meals at the station—here’s all about it.

Through its E-Catering division, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) is collaborating with Zomato to provide rail travellers with a wider selection of culinary options. IRCTC has started a Proof of Concept (PoC) in five railway stations as part of this collaboration: New Delhi, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Lucknow, and Varanasi.

In accordance with this Proof of Concept, passengers can easily order and get pre-ordered meals via the IRCTC E-Catering portal with Zomato’s help. This decision was made public through a press release by the company. With more options and convenience for their gastronomic tastes thanks to this strategic cooperation, rail travellers will have a more pleasurable and pleasant journey.

Additionally, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has made the decision to provide travellers attending the Navratri celebration with a unique ‘vrat ka khana’ (fasting food) service on a few railway stops via e-catering services. The service was launched on October 12 in order to accommodate the traditional fast that many people observe during Navratri.

Satvik diet alternatives are available on the menu. And it includes sabudana, kuttu ka atta, sendha namak, Navratri Thali, Jeera Aloo, Aloo ki Tikki, Sabudana Vada, French fries, Falhari Thali, Falhari Chuda, Malai Barfi, Milk Cake, Rasmalai, Sadi Barfi, Lassi, Plain Curd and so on.

According to a Times Of India report, travellers can pre-order these meals with choices for pre-payment or pay-on-delivery on the IRCTC’s e-Catering website or the “Food-on-Track” app at least two hours before their departure.

Around 96 stations are offering this Navaratri meal. They include Kanpur Central, New Delhi, Ratlam, Jabalpur, Patna, Jaipur, Ambala Cantt., Rajendra Nagar, Aurangabad, Jhansi, Itarsi, Akola, Vasai Road, Nasik Road, Jabalpur, Surat, Kalyan, Borivali, Durg, Gwalior, Mathura, Nagpur, Bhopal, Ahmednagar and so on.

The IRCTC-approved online food aggregator Zoop had debuted its offerings on the social media site Instagram. By utilising their Instagram accounts, train travellers may now easily order the meals they want. Their seats on the train will soon receive food that is delivered right there where the train is.

Ziva, an Instagram chatbot service by Zoop, improves the train passengers’ ability to order food. There are many different types of food available there, such as Jain food, South Indian, Chinese, snacks, and North Indian foods.

In more than 150 Indian train stations, Zoop hopes to provide wholesome food to customers at their seats. By 2024, Zoop hopes to have delivered 1 lakh meals daily to more than 250 Indian train stations.

Train commuters might benefit greatly from Zoop’s Instagram bot, which offers more than simply food ordering. Customers can easily check their PNR Status and access alternatives for food ordering thanks to it. These choices include examining the discounts that are available, monitoring food deliveries, cancelling purchases, and filing complaints.
