If It Rains Too Much Italian Island Elba Offers To Refund Hotel Stays

Nothing sounds worse than rains while on a vacation. Well, Elba, an Italian island is so confident about its weather that the authorities have promised a night’s hotel stay to be returned if it rains for hours consecutively.

Whaat!? Yes you heard that right! Elba, an island located at the coast of Tuscany has launched the ‘Elba No Rain’ Campaign, that promises no rain in the month of May in order to attract tourists.

The “Elba No Rain” campaign launched at the beginning of May, promises to reimburse guests for a night of their trip if it rains for more than two consecutive hours on any given day.

Wait it gets better! The whole hotel stay will be refunded if it rains for more than two hours on every day of a guest’s visit.

The offer only applies until 31 May, and then from 15 September to 31 October 2019; it only counts if it rains for more than two hours between 10am and 8pm; and breakfasts and dinners are not included in the refund.

This promise has wisely been made keeping in mind that in the past five years the island of Elba has observed little to know rainfall in the months April- May.

The island is best known for being Napoleon’s place of exile from 1814-15. Visitors can stop by the National Museum of Napoleonic Residences in the town of Portoferraio to find out more, should the “Elba No Rain” guarantee ever fail.
