Japan May Remove All Pre-Departure Covid Tests For Tourists

Japan has been super strict regarding tourist visits. It welcomed travellers from across the world in phases. For the unaware, tourist travel in Japan was banned for two years. When, the country finally opened its borders, there were strict rules in place too. It opened in April, wherein travellers were allowed to visit the country only in tour groups and there was a certain capping in the number of travellers entering into the country.

Japan, Covid Tests And Travel Entry

In a new development, from September 7 onwards, a fully vaccinated traveller entering Japan need not undergo Covid-19 tests. As per media reports from Japan, the daily cap of 20,000 tourists in the country might also ease. There is a probability that the number of tourists might go upto 50,000 from 20,000. However, certain documents still need to be submitted by the travellers before heading to the country.

No Solo Travel In Japan At The Moment

If you are the solo traveller kind, then you might have to wait for some more time to travel to Japan. As per recent updates, travellers can be in the country only along with group tours. According to certain media outlets, the government is considering solo travellers in the country provided their tour is managed by a travel agency. If things go as planned, then solo travellers can be in Japan this September itself.

Japan has been super cautious with inviting travellers into the country for the past two years due to the pandemic. But, as the whole world reopens, we are sure Japan too, will ease certain restrictions and make travel easy once again.
