Someone You Loved is coming to the UAE! Wondering what we’re talking about? The famous Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi will perform in the UAE for the first time. Famous Someone You Loved singer will get the crowd roaring and grooving to his tunes at Sharjah’s Al Majaz Amphitheatre on January 17.

What’s In It?

The Scottish singer took to Instagram to announce the news. He posted: “Buzzing to announce my first ever show in UAE. Can’t wait to get over.” The singer-songwriter began his musical career by singing in pubs at the age of nine. Later, on 20 October 2017 he released his first track Bruises. The song bagged 28 million plays on Spotify worldwide, making him the fastest ever unsigned artist to reach 25 million plays on the platform.

This year, the singer made headlines with Someone You Love, which is a hit across Europe, Asia and Australia. The song also bagged the top spot for seven weeks on the UK Singles Chart. Following this, in May 2019 Capaldi released his debut album, which became the best selling album over the last five years.

Capaldi is also known to be one of the first singers to both announce and sell out an arena tour even before the release of his debut album.

At the Sharjah gig this January, fans can expect hits from some of his best albums including Bruises, Hold Me While You Wait and Grace.

Tickets for the gig are now on sale, priced from AED 156.

What Else?

Seems like Dubai has a new found soft corner for comedians! Celebrity comedian Russell Peters was the first to host a gig at the Coca Cola Arena. And now, the city is gearing up for a laughter rito by Jo Koy. This is the first time the Filipino-American comedian will be at the emirate for a gig. The event is slated for 20 January, so save the date!

After the recent release of the Netflix special, ‘Comin’ In Hot’, Koy is currently touring across Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines as part of the Just Kidding World Tour.

Koy has four highly rated stand-up specials on Comedy Central and Netflix to his credit. In addition, he has also wowed fans with ‘The Koy Pond with Jo Koy’ – a weekly podcast by Starburns Audio. That’s not all! Earlier this year, Koy reached the No 1 position on the Billboard Charts for his stand-up comedy album, ‘Live From Seattle’. Click here for the complete article.
