Who knew a South Indian small town would be emerging as the cannabis capital of India? Leaving behind Parvati Valley, Uttarakhand and Himachal, Maredumilli in Andhra Pradesh is famous for its lush greenery and serne landscapes, and also for chasing the ‘high’. Located in the East Godavari region, this small town has 10,000 acres and nearly 1000 villages growing marijuana that is slowly beating the ‘legal’ growth of marijuana in Uttarakhand and Himachal.
Why To Visit Here?
Maredumilli might be a small village but it’s great to explore a natural environment here. Enjoy the Rampa Waterfalls, Jalatarangini Waterfalls and enjoy a night in the tent at Jungle Star camping area. There are plenty of tourist spots in this hilly area, but it’s slowly gaining the status of being a marijuana paradise. Lots of tourists come here to enjoy the endless greenery, coffee and pepper plantations, but also to get feel the high (quite literally) in this hill station.
