The Uttar Pradesh cabinet gave a green light to microbreweries in local resorts, hotels, restaurants, and clubs. This decision comes after the state wanting to boom their tourism. There have been quite some tourists that visit cities in UP,  domestic as well as international. Hence, this go-ahead to microbreweries that will produce quality beer for customers and will also provide more job opportunities.

Shrikant Shara, the energy minister of UP said, “The decision for allowing microbreweries in hotels and restaurants would make draught beer available and increase avenues of employment and revenue,’’. This was after CM Yogi Adityanath chaired a cabinet meeting.

I think this is the best news for beer lovers all over the country. Beer that emphasizes on great taste, good quality and brewed at that very place! I would always go for the authentic flavor, a freshly brewed glass of beer rather than a tightly packed can. Isn’t that just amazing?

We usually see breweries in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and even in Karnataka, Kerala, Haryana. But a brewery in Uttar Pradesh is like an upgrade to the state! Shouldn’t more such alcohol-related decisions taken in a cabinet meeting? I bet the youth of Uttar Pradesh is really happy now!

There are some specifications laid down by the cabinet before they amended the Uttar Pradesh Breweries Rules, 1961. The maximum capacity of a micro-brewery will not exceed more than 600 liters per day or 2.1 lakh liters per year.

Cabinet approved an application fee of Rs 50,000 and a license fee of Rs 2 lakh for setting up a micro-brewery. A security deposit of Rs 1 lakh will also be required for getting licenses and will be valid from April 1 to March 31.

Among other good news, they have also decided to increase the old age pension from Rs 400 to Rs 500 monthly to beneficiaries in the 60-79 age group and for 80-year plus age group, the old age pension is Rs 500 per month.
