Bollywood nostalgia is heading to Dubai this Christmas Day. Legendary playback singer Kumar Sanu will perform a special live concert at Dubai World Trade Centre on Friday, 25 December 2026, and he won’t be alone. His daughter, Shannon K, joins him on stage, bringing two generations of musical talent together in one evening. It promises two distinct musical journeys inside a single live production.
A Voice That Defined Bollywood Romance
Few voices have left as lasting an impression on Hindi film music as Kumar Sanu. His distinctive vocal style became synonymous with the golden era of Bollywood romance, and it made him one of the industry’s most recognisable playback singers.
His breakthrough came with the soundtrack of Aashiqui, which introduced audiences to a voice that would dominate Hindi film music through the 1990s. A run of celebrated soundtracks and chart-topping songs followed. From evergreen romantic melodies to energetic chartbusters, his songs have accompanied countless moments, memories and milestones, and they keep finding new listeners across generations.
Shannon K Brings a Contemporary Sound
Sharing the stage with him is Shannon K. She has an emerging international recording artist who has been steadily building her identity as a pop performer. Her sound draws on global pop and contemporary influences. Also, it pairs the familiarity of a legendary voice with the creative expression of a younger artist.
