The Prime Minister of the country, Shri Narendra Modi, today, inaugurated the second phase of the Namma metro line in Bengaluru. Millions of people poured in to witness the inauguration. The inauguration ceremony took place today, on the 25th of March at around 1 PM. This means that starting now, this second phase of the Bengaluru metro will open its gates for public use. This will significantly aid in connectivity and improve public transport.
Narendra Modi Inaugurated The Namma Metro
This particular extension line of the metro has been awaiting completion for a long time. It began construction way back in 2016 and is now finally complete. To inaugurate this long-anticipated project, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was there. It is also reported that he would even ride in the newly-inaugurated metro line.

This new metro extension is a total of 13.71 kilometres long. It starts from the Whitefield metro station which is also known as the Kadugodi Metro station. The line ends at the Krishnarajapura Metro station which is also known as the KR Puram metro station.
The metro line was inaugurated with the aim of expanding and improving the IT hub’s connectivity to the eastern parts of Bangalore. This line is a part of the second phase of the purple line and cost around ₹660 crores to make. It has a total of 12 stations.
The station names are Whitefield or Kadugogi, Hopefarm Channasandra, Kadugodi Tree Park, Pattandur Agrahara, Sri Sathya Sai Hospital, Nallurhalli, Kundalahalli, Seetharamapalya, Hoodi, Garudacharapalya, Singayyanapalya, and Krishnarajapura.
