Nepal Bans Entry Of Indians After 4 Tourists Test Covid-19 Positive On Arrival

If you’re planning a trip to Nepal, we have not-so-good news for you. Nepal has now barred the entry of Indian arrivals testing Covid-19 positive. This decision was taken after four Indian tourists tested Covid-19 positive on arrival in Nepal. They were sent back to India amid a sharp surge in coronavirus infections in the Himalayan region. Nepal Increases Covid-19 Testing On Indian Tourists

Nepal is imposing strict travel restrictions on Indian tourists. Coronavirus testing has been ramped up on Indian tourists. Nepal officials have halted the entry of Indian tourists who test Covid-19 positive on arrival. Four Indian tourists arrived in Nepa through the Jhulaghat border point in Western Nepal. Since they were all infected with coronavirus, they were sent back to India.

Nepali Citizens Who Returned From India Tested Covid-9 Positive

According to a report by India.com, many Nepali citizens who returned back from India tested Covid-19 positive. Since Baitadi district of Nepal shares a border with India, it’s a high-risk region. Baitadi has 31 active cases of coronavirus. And these are recent covid-19 cases not older than three weeks ago. Nepal has currently recorded 5,874 active cases of Covid-19. It might be a good idea to halt your trip to Nepal due to a rise in coronavirus cases in the country.
