Never Take Your Shoes Off In A Flight And Here’s Why!

Most of us are aware of how we face some physical changes while travelling on a flight. Passengers who are regular at airports are very much familiar with how our body changes as the flight take-off and reaches its highest point. Gastrointestinal issues, dehydration, dizziness, and so much more are common inside a flight. Even not wearing a shoe during the flying journey can cause issues and can save flyers from airplane emergencies. It seems very weird, right? But nothing seems impossible anymore with the low air pressure and low humidity. And that’s why flight attendants say ‘never take your shoes off on a flight’.

There are so many reasons why flight attendants say no to taking your shoes off on a flight. Some are for basic safety purposes while the others are for cleanliness. In the end, the outcome is pretty simple and it is for your own good.

Flight Cabins Are Not Always The Tidiest

Every cabin is properly scrubbed before each flight but the cleaning duration is very less in comparison to washing a humongous plane neatly. The lights are not deep cleaned all the time, rather it happens mostly once a month or so. Though it differs from airline to airline. If something falls on the ground, the crew will clean the place ASAP and remove the stain. This cleaning does not always mean disinfecting the area. It’s always better to be in your shoes rather than get dirt on your feet and socks. The situation can get messy and gross.

No One Is A Fan Of Smelly Feet

With all the walking and running inside the airport, it is quite common that our feet will sweat and may get smelly. In an enclosed flight with hundreds of passengers right in the top of the air, it is no how acceptable to spoil the flight with a stinky smell. It is a hundred times better to wear a pair of comfortable shoes, maybe a slipper or a sneaker, and then relax on the flight rather than getting uncomfortable.

Footwears Will Save During Emergencies

If you need to be outside the plane during any emergency, being barefoot can cause trouble. The particles on the ground and debris will act as a blockage when flyers will try to move to the exit. Whereas shoes will not form any barrier while rushing.

It takes just a few seconds to wear a comfortable pair of shoes. So, why take a risk on the flight?

There are some basic guidelines to follow inside an airport. It can be a bit overwhelming in the beginning. So here’s a video for you that will clear out all your queries while boarding an international flight.
