Applying for a passport is one of the most tedious tasks! But the government of India has time and again made sure to make this process simpler and easier for all travellers. Well, if you are planning to go to other countries either for studies, work, or leisure travel, here’s something you need to know. Now you can use DigiLocker to easily apply for a passport.

Recently, there have been some changes in the process of applying for a passport. The new changes are in respect with international travel. In order to acquire a new passport, you will have to follow certain new rules. The application process will now be much simpler and easier because of the government’s decision.

According to recent changes, all applicants can easily apply for their new passport using DigiLocker. DigiLocker is a government platform. To apply using this platform, the applicants will have to upload all the required documents.

After uploading all the documents, one will have to visit the official website,, and apply for the passport online. This will actually make the application process easier.

With this new update, applicants can save time while applying for a new passport. As their documents are already uploaded on DigiLocker, the process of application becomes easier and more hassle-free. 

For people who don’t know, DigiLocker is facilitated by the Indian Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. It is a digital locker where people can easily save their important documents safely and without any hassle. 

Every time they need any document, they can simply get into their digital locker with passwords and use it.
