Surat is all set to become the first station of the state-of-the-art Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train route. Taking to Twitter, Minister of State for Railways & Textiles Darshana Jardosh has shared ‘the graphical representation’ of the Surat Bullet Train Station. Jardosh wrote that the insides of the multi-level station will resemble ‘a sparkling diamond.’ The pictures have received many praises from the internet. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw had announced in December 2021 that the first bullet train in India will run between Surat and Bilimora and it will commence services in 2026.

The Station Will Be A Part Of The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Corridor

The Surat-Bilimora Bullet Train route will be a part of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor. Work on the 508-kilometre long corridor was initially planned to be pulled off by 2023. But the project got delayed due to COVID-19 and land acquisition matters. The corridor will comprise stations at Bandra-Kurla Complex, Thane, Bilimora, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Sabarmati and other locations. As per previous reports, bullet trains might run on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route every 20 minutes during peak hours.

The Station Will Be Ready By December 2024

As per reports, four bullet train stations, namely Surat, Bilimora, Bharuch and Vapi will be ready by December 24. Work on the Surat station will be completed first. Also, a viaduct bridge will come up on the railway route. Bullet trains are set to come up in other parts of the country as well. You might be able to Travel From Delhi To Agra In A High-Speed Bullet Train Every 60 Minute From 2029. The Delhi-Ayodhya Bullet Train Aims To Cut The Travel Time Between The Two Destinations To Just Two Hours.
