In a bid to fight plastic pollution in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara, the owner of a petrol pump in the city has come up with a unique initiative. Ashok Kumar Mundra, the owner of Chhaganlal Bagtawarmal petrol pump in Bhilwara is offering an attractive discount for petrol and diesel in exchange for single-use plastic waste. Hand Over Single-Use Plastic Waste; Get Discount On Petrol & Diesel

Chhaganlal Bagtawarmal petrol pump nestled on Chittor Road is offering customers a discount of  ₹1 on a litre of petrol and 50 paise off on a litre of diesel in exchange for single-use plastic items. Customers need to hand in a plastic milk pouch of one litre, two pouches of half litre or one-litre water bottle to avail of this attractive discount. The single-use plastic items collected will be handed over to Saras Dairy for disposal and recycling purposes.

Aim To Make Bhilwara Plastic-Free

Ashok Kumar Mundra revealed to media outlets that he initiated this campaign in his petrol pump to create awareness of the harmful effects of plastic and polythene on the environment. The petrol pump owner wished to witness his city, Bhilwara as a plastic-free city as plastic not only harms human beings but even poses a threat to stray animals, especially cows.
