Road Hai Ya Carpet? Maharashtrians Lift Poorly Made Road, Show The Carpet Beneath

Living in India, people are no stranger to poor-quality roads. In a recent shocking event, some villagers in Maharashtra took to social media to showcase the poor quality of roads constructed in the village. The angry villagers were seen in the video hurling insults at the contractor who was responsible for the shoddy construction-work. Villagers could lift the poorly made road like a carpet! The video has gone viral on Twitter and people are leaving comments marking their disappointment and shock.

Villagers In Maharashtra Lift Poorly Made Road Like A Carpet

Recently, a video went viral on Twitter which showed the poor quality of a road constructed in a village. The villagers were able to lift the road up like a carpet! The incident took place in the Jalna district in the Karjat-Hast Pokhari region of the Ambad taluka.

Usually, the material of the road is set directly on the paved path. However, it seems like for this particular road, the material was laid on some sort of a carpet. It seemed pretty flimsy and when the villagers lifted the road, all the material crumbled and fell off the carpet.

The villagers, in the video, were also heard hurling abuses at the contractor. He was identified as Rana Thakur and the villagers were repeatedly heard saying the phrase “This is Rana Thakur’s bogus work” in marathi.

The video was posted on Twitter and while many people expressed their disappointment, others commented saying that this isn’t some sort of a bogus work. Some people stated that it actually is a new technology called “Geo-textile” which prevents contact with different layers of soil, aids in water drainage during monsoon season and helps the road last longer.

They said that the villagers should be fined for damaging the road before it got a chance to dry. According to these people, the road should have been allowed to dry off. However, the villagers, in their haste to call out the contractor and due to a lack of knowledge about the road, ended up permanently damaging it.
