Sachin Tendulkar recently visited a beautiful village in Sri Lanka to meet students of some schools. Back in 2013, he was appointed as the UNICEF Regional Goodwill Ambassador for South Asia and his recent visit to Sri Lanka was with UNICEF. The God of Cricket went to the Sabaragamuwa Province and spent time with a lot of students and interacted with their parents.

Sachin Tendulkar Shared A Snippet From His Field Mission In Sri Lanka

The cricket legend talked about his beautiful memories of meeting with the kids and having a good time in this Sri Lankan village. Taking to the social media platform ‘X’, he uploaded a stunning glimpse of his visit to the island nation as the UNICEF Regional Goodwill Ambassador.

Sachin shared in his tweet how all the kids take some food from their portions and add it to a dedicated plate so that they can feed that collected food to birds.

During his visit to Sri Lanka, he went to two schools in the Kegalle district, according to a report by The Times of India. He interacted with kids at a pre-school and later he went to the second school to spend some time with the students of Class 3. He even played some cricket with the senior students of the school. Tendulkar shared that children are the best teachers and they help everyone “see wisdom in the simplest of things.”

The Cricketer Met Many Young Individuals And Families As Well

During his time in Sri Lanka, he interacted with many people and talked about various things with every group. He talked about his cricketing journey and several stories and experiences of cricket in relation to his life. From facing hurdles to working hard to reach his goals, he indeed inspired many young lives in this interaction. Also, Tendulkar spent some time talking with people living in plantations, as shared by UNICEF.

In fact, the cricketer spoke with some people who faced the harsh impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic during this mission. With this event, UNICEF even paid attention to these people and how they went through a difficult time due to the economic crisis in the year 2022.
