5 Secluded Destinations Near Delhi To Completely Disconnected From Humans

While we mostly stayed home-arrested in 2020, the second wave of the pandemic battered all our travel plans. However, with the rollout of vaccines, there is some glimmer at the end of the tunnel. That said, we should not be complacent and ensure that we travel to safer destinations if we must. Here is a list of spectacular destinations near Delhi, which are off the beaten track and far away from human habitation. Read on!

1. Champawat, Uttarakhand

Champawat is a lesser-known, offbeat destination in Uttarakhand. Nestled in the Kumaon region, Champawat is embraced with water on two sides and hills on the third. The scenic ambience, lush green meadows, and pleasant weather give you the vibes of visiting a tiny town in Europe. Besides, Champawat is famous for housing Manokamna Purn Mandir Kaula, a revered Shani temple. The ancient sacred Hindu shrines like the Baleshwar temple and Kranteshwar temple display remarkable architecture.

2. Barog, Himachal

Only 60 km from Chandigarh, this hill station remained mostly untouched by tourists until a few years ago. The Dolanji Bon Monastery here exudes radiating peace. and the Choor Chandni Peak and Solan Valley decorate a perfect setting for camping with friends. If you’re craving a little more then visit the Suketi Fossil Park to observe soft sandstone and clay rocks.

3. Morni Hill

Around 3,900 meters above sea level stands Queen Morni’s namesake in Haryana. This small village is home to a historic fort and is a perfect offbeat getaway for adventure sports and idyllic pastures. Morni Hill Tract is surrounded by two scenic lakes that allow the flora and fauna to proliferate. Expect quiet here away from the madness of the city.

4. Nahan Himachal

This quaint little town is can be the ideal place if you are looking to disconnect from humans. The Shivalik range is its crown jewel but the scenic beauty is not the only attraction. In the middle of a wild and removed pine forest, the camping site Kangojodi is the best retreat away from the concrete jungle. Here, you can spend some alone time under the stars in the wild.

5. Dausa, Rajasthan

Remember the mystifying, maze-like step-well from ‘The Dark Knight Rises’? Yup, it is the famous ‘Chand Baori’ located here in Dausa, a tiny village in Rajasthan. This place is home to many ancient marvels like Bhadrawati Palace and Khawaraoji. Just a few hours’ drive will transport you magically to a different world of history. Go there on your long weekend with your family.
