Snatchers Targeting Women And Elders

Looking at the instances of mobile snatching in Thane, it is seen that these snatchers come on bikes and mostly target women and elderly people. The instances show people were either walking on the street or travelling in an autorickshaw while their phones got snatched. A woman was in the auto rickshaw, making an online payment, when her mobile was snatched by two men on a bike.

While lodging complaints at the police station, all these people were informed that the police had received many similar cases within a few days. The snatching took place mostly in the evening hours or at night after 8pm. Previously, there have been many cases of the same, which led to the installation of CCTVs in many places. Many places also have police patrolling during the night. We hope that the police get hold of these snatchers and that the people get their belongings back.
