Thanks To Constant Clouding, Pune Is Now Cooler Than Hill Stations In Daytime

At this time of the year, citizens of Pune are already wearing their winter apparel, thanks to the constant clouding and rainfall in the city. The day-time temperatures of Pune have dropped drastically, making this city cooler than many hill stations in India.  The maximum temperature of 25.6°C in Shivajinagar on Wednesday was almost equal to the temperatures of hill stations like Shimla, Manali, and Darjeeling

What’s More?

From unpacking winter wear to switching off fans, Pune folks are doing all they can to stay warm during this torrential weather. The city has hardly seen sunshine since the past 10-12 days due to the overcast sky conditions. Anupam Kashyapi, head of weather at IMD, Pune has given a statement to Times Of India.
Pune winter
In her opinion, the presence of huge clouds has hindered the penetration of solar insulation on the earth’s surface. There is also less fluctuation in the night and day temperature difference because Pune has been only able to receive indirect solar radiation in the past few days.
What Else?
While this is an interesting moment for Pune to have chilly weather that’s actually competing with major hill stations in India, we hope the city receives adequate sunshine, and the citizens stay safe during the stormy weather.
