The U.S. Citizens Now Allowed To Visit Oman Without Visas

The scare of the new variant of the novel coronavirus had forced many countries, including Oman, to shut the borders for tourists for a week. But as the vaccination programme in the sultanate has begun, starting today, tourists can visit Oman again. While visitors from 103 nations can visit Oman without securing a visa for up to 10 days, the U.S to has made it to that list.

For Now, Only Americans Can Enter Oman With Valid Residency Without Prior Approval

The U.S citizens can now visit Oman without securing a visa in advance. However, they can only arrive with a confirmed hotel reservation, health insurance, and a return ticket. Previously, U.S. citizens travelling to Oman were required to obtain a tourist visa that they could apply for online on the Royal Oman Police E-Visa website.

U.S Citizens Can Visit 185 Countries Without Visa 

For them visa cost $14 for 10-days or $52 for 30 days- however, they don’t have to pay anything for it. They also have to have a passport valid for at least six months. But here’s a catch! For now, keeping the current situation in mind, only Americans with valid residency can enter right now without prior approval, according to the U.S. Embassy in Oman. They have to obtain a negative COVID-19 PCR test from within 96 hours, quarantine for seven days, and take a test on the eighth day. Residents are also required to have a valid health insurance policy for the duration of their stay.

When it comes to U.S citizens, Oman isn’t the only country where they can travel without a visa. They have other 185 destinations in the list. U.S. passport is one of the most powerful in the world. However, thanks to covid-19, our passports, are locked in cupboards for the time being.
