The World May Run Out Of Food In 27 Years: Scientists

It is high time that people start taking action to save the planet Earth. It is high time that people understand what the future holds for them due to such drastic climate changes and climate crises. The way we are leading lives and exploiting nature, we are not that far away from the worst. If we don’t stop ourselves today and start taking action right from now, the future is dark. Recently, scientists warned us with the most frightening news; the world might go out of food completely in only years. Thinking about the future gives us goosebumps, no wonder how horrifying days are waiting for us after a few decades.

How Is The Nature Reacting To Climate Change?

None of us really remembers hearing about melting glaciers, imbalance in the biological ecosystems, such extreme unbearable heat in the summer season, and so much more. But these are some things that we hear almost every other day. The glaciers are melting, heat is exceeding to an intolerable extent, wildlife is getting extinct, and so many natural calamities.

After research and speculations, scientists alerted every human being on this planet of the terrifying future. Scientists warned that we have only 27 years in our hands till we run out of food completely. In fact, they have initiated a ‘doomsday countdown’ and the world has 27 years and 250 days (as of 25 April 2022) till the day the planet becomes ‘out of food’.

Extreme Increase In Population And Consumption

We are completely familiar with how the population is multiplying rapidly and with that, the consumption of food increases too. The way the population is growing, the numbers are exceeding the amount of food produced each day. In addition to the population, we waste an excessive amount of food every day. Scientists have also notified that humans have to double up their food production to sustain their lives and feed everyone. This is an important reason for the surge in prices of food.

Why Will The World Run Out Of Food?

Sociobiologist Edward Wilson shared his views as we are moving toward a food crisis to the Daily Star, as reported by Indian Times, ‘There are limits to Earth’s capacity to feed humanity. Even if everyone on the planet agreed to become vegetarian, the world’s farmland could not support the need. The world population will be too big to feed itself. By then, there will be almost 10billion people on the planet and the food demand will have increased by 70% compared to what we needed in 2017. The limit to how many people Earth can feed is set at 10 billion at the absolute maximum. The constraints of the biosphere are fixed, there’s no wiggle room here.’

We are running towards the doomsday knowingly and unknowingly. We are very late but still have the time to start living wisely and protect nature.
