Switzerland laces most of our wish lists for its snow-clad mountains, cable-car rides offering stunning views and even its train journey across the snow. But what travel all the way to Switzerland when we have ‘heaven on earth’, right here in Jammu and Kashmir? Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared beautiful pictures of a snow-covered railway station and asked Netizens to guess the location. The pictures will surely wow you!

Railway Minister Asks Twitter To Guess Location Of Snow-Covered Railway Station

Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw gave Twitter Frozen feels, leaving Twitteratis singing, Let it go, more like Let it snow! Turning the micro-blogging site into a KBC contest, Ashwini Vaishnaw asked Netizens to guess the location of the stunning snow-covered railway station pictures which he shared on Twitter. Don’t worry he gave a hint — Heaven on earth.

The pictures look right out of a postcard. You’d even mistake it to be a train travelling through Switzerland’s Jungfrau mountains. The tracks are covered in a blanket of snow. The bright red and blue train is seen surrounded by snow-covered peaks and it looks no less than a fairytale.

Twitteratis instantly started guessing the name of the snow-covered railway station. Some Netizens instantly said that this station could be located in Jammu & Kashmir. Well, the got they clearly got the hint right. Another person thought they were pictures from Jomsom in Nepal. Siddharth Bakaria, an entrepreneur and environmentalist guessed it was Qazigund railway station in Jammu and Kashmir.

Video Of Trains Passing Through Banihal-Baramulla Stretch Of J&K Leave Netizens In Awe

Now, for the answer — it’s Awantipura Station of the Banihal-Baramulla stretch. The Ministry of Railways also shared beautiful videos of the train passing through the snow-clad stretch in Jammu & Kashmir. It really makes you wonder, why we even yearn to go abroad when we have such captivating sites in India itself. The pictures of the snow-covered railway station garnered over 1.1 million views with over 27,000 likes. Netizens were in awe of how beautiful the station looked during winter.

We won’t be surprised if many will take to booking tickets to Jammu & Kashmir, STAT! Cause, we certainly will.
