Just some time back, a viral video took social media by a storm which showed a Bengal tiger pulling a safari vehicle with tourists, with its teeth in Karnataka’s Bannerghatta National Park. Now another video went viral, which shows a group of tourists in a safari vehicle at Karnataka’s BR Hills range forest, stuck between two elephants. The viral video shows an elephant chasing a safari jeep with tourists. The elephants trumpet loudly while passengers scream in fear. The camera pans the other way, to show another elephant blocking the path from another side. So what happens next? Well, read on to know more.

Two Elephants Block Path & Chase Safari Jeep In Karnataka

A risky situation happened for tourists at BR Hills range forest in Karnataka on March 15. The group of tourists were in a safari jeep when an elephant, trumpeted loudly and chased them. The elephant ran after the cart for some time and finally gave up the chase. Just seconds later, the camera pans to the front and in absolute horror, there’s another elephant blocking the path of the vehicle. The elephant turns its back and trots ahead of the vehicle. Passengers scream in excitement saddled with fear.

Viral Video Shows Tourist Vehicle Surrounded By Elephants

The driver of the vehicle continues revving up the engine, the elephant walks along, stops and then faces the vehicle. Finally, the elephant moves away from the vehicle and the safari jeep drives away to safety. On the side, around four to five elephants are seen in the video, happily grazing. Senior IFS officer and Chief Conservator of Forests Manoj Kumar stated to The News Minute, “Recently a calf was born in the tourism zone, maybe the family is guarding the young one. On seeing the safari vehicle, two elephants must have started charging from front as well as back. The driver had no choice but to drive the vehicle ahead to save tourists.”

Following this risky incident, safari drivers at the BR Hills range forest in Mysuru have been advised to avoid that route of elephants. This viral video led to people questioned the driver for charging towards the animal, others remarked that it’s a wise decision to safeguard human lives, and move away from the elephant habitat.
