Goa is almost every Mumbaikar’s favourite getaway. It is THE favourite getaway, period. What if we told you that the journey doesn’t have to end when you leave Goa but the way back to Mumbai includes glass roofs? You got that right, the Madgaon-Mumbai Jan Shatabdi Express train running from Goa to Mumbai, is all glass panelled for you to enjoy the breathtaking views of the Western Ghats. Mountains, hills, green covers, it will surely be a trip to remember! And the scenery outside is even prettier in the rains, everything being washed anew.

Mumbai-Madgaon Jan Shatabdi Express
The Mumbai-Jan Shatabdi Express runs from Dadar to Madgaon in South Goa thrice a week taking about 9 hours to cover the distance. It only runs in the day and has been reported as punctual. Until Septemeber 2017, it had two kinds of coaches, the non-AC chair car and the AC chair car. Both cost Rs 270 approx and Rs 945 approx respectively.

Vistadome Coach
The Vistadome coach was the game changer for this train as this coach is no other like you have ever seen. It is almost entirely glass! This is to provide you direct access to the mesmerising views of your journey as the train hurtles towards Goa through the beautiful Konkan valleys and the Western Ghats. There are many tunnels, water bodies, greenery and the prettiest of hills that will come along your way. Although the tickets are priced at Rs 2024 approx, the highest for any of the coaches on the train, it is absolutely worth it.

What’s More?
The 40 seats in the coach rotate to give you a 360-degree view of your awesome surroundings ensuring you don’t is out on even a bit of the scenery outside. Did you know this feature is a first for Indian Railways? It totes is people. It is super spacious too with proper luggage compartments. There are LCDs, sliding doors and even a juicer and oven!

” 1) From 10.06.2019 to 31.10.2019: Vistadome coach will be attached on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
2) Vista Dome Coach will not be available from 01.09.2019 to 20.09.2019 due to maintenance.
3) From 01.11.2019 (Non-Monsoon Period) Vista Dome Coach will run on 06 days a week except Wednesday from Dadar & Madgaon.”
