UAE Launches First ‘Self Sanitisation Walk’ For Paramedics

Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services has launched its first ‘Self Sanitisation Walk’ in order to protect paramedics and their families from the infection. The new installation helps paramedics to get rid of infection that could be stuck to to their clothes while working with Covid 19 patients.

What’s It?

The innovative equipment was developed in the country under the directives of the His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The Dubai Ruler has always ensure safety of his residents and this new system is an initiative to protect the frontline workers in the fight against COVID-19.

The new, developed in collaboration with SFFECO Global, enables health workers to perform their duties with extra caution. The device efficiently scans the shoes and clothes of whoever walks past, thereby providing and extra layer of protection. The walk sprays a mist that disinfects clothes in less than 20 seconds. The device detects human movement and sprays the disinfectant only when a person passes by, thereby saving energy. The device is also fitted with a hand sanitizer.

Dubai Ambulance’s Executive Director Khalifa Aldrai said that they constantly work to develop innovative ideas that would provide a better working environment as well as ensure safety of the paramedics. The ‘Self Sanitization Walk’ is installed at the entrance of the accommodation facility of Dubai Ambulance’s field workers, along with thermal screening equipment. The new idea was made reality within 24 hours.
