Omicron variant Is spreading like wildfire over the globe. In such a situation, Emirates has been taking all possible efforts to control the count of rising cases. Federal and municipal officials have released a slew of new Covid safety measures. This includes aircraft cancellations, travel prohibitions, and new Covid safety requirements.
No Vaccination, No Travel
The residents who are not yet vaccinated for the virus won’t be able to travel. This rule will come into effect from 10th January 2022. A joined declarative by NCEMA AND MoFAIC has been issued. It states that the move will protect UAE citizens amid the “global epidemiological situation and the current high rate of infections” .

Once eligible for booster dose, emirates should get it done to travel. A medical condition is the only exemption to travel without vaccination.
List Of Countries That Are Not Eligible To Travel DXB
Emirates airline has updated their website stating, “passengers originating from the following destinations can’t travel to or through Dubai with effect from December 28, 2021, until further notice”.
- Republic of Angola (LAD)
- Republic of Guinea (CKY)
- Republic of Kenya (NBO)
- United Republic of Tanzania (DAR)
- Republic of Uganda (EBB)
- Republic of Ghana (ACC)
- Republic of Cote d’Ivoire (ABJ)
- Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia (ADD)
- Zambia (LUN)
- Zimbabwe (HRE).
GDRFA, ICA approvals
When travelling to Dubai from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, or Sudan, residents must get a GDRFA or ICA authorisation. “This does not apply to travellers with other visas. The list includes, recently issued resident or employment visas, short or long stay visas, holders of a 10-year UAE Golden visa. Also, Investor or Partner visa, visit visa, or visa on arrival,” Emirates Airline writes on its website.
Only negative PCR test results within 48 hours before travel will not be enough. Travellers from these countries must have a fast PCR test at the departure airport within six hours of the trip.
PCR Test On Arrival At Dubai Airport
Passengers travelling in Dubai from the following countries, according to Emirates, need to take another Covid19 PCR test upon arrival: Afghanistan, Angola, Argentina, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Cambodia, Chile, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ghana, Guinea, India, Iran, Iraq, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Liberia, Morocco, Myanmar, Namibia, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, Romania, Rwanda, Russia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Slovakia, Somaliland, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
