US Declares WWE As Essential Service During Coronavirus Pandemic

We aren’t used to dealing with life-threatening pandemics, period. The last pandemic occurred during the time of Newton and since then we have pretty much sorted our own priority. Speaking of priority, the same does not apply to everyone. While for some, the basic necessities of life are a priority, for some it can mean fuelling testosterone entertainment. Well, the USA has now declared WWE as an essential service during the coronavirus pandemic.

What’s In It?

State officials around the world are desperately trying to provide essential services and also curb the spread of COVID-19. Under such a situation, peculiar news greets us from Florida, USA. Mayor Jerry L. Demings of Orange County considers World Wrestling Entertainment to be essential. It’s also the place where this business has a sizeable training facility. It has also held recent events including its marquee show and WrestleMania.

As various states in the USA prohibit mass gathering, in Florida WWE can resume operations after Governor Ron DeSantis delivered a statewide “shelter-in-place” order on April 3 until April 30. Addressing a news conference, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings was reported as saying, “With some conversation with the governor’s office regarding the governor’s order, they have deemed an essential business. And so, therefore, they were allowed to remain open.” It’s interesting that WWE has continued to air matches. This includes a two-night, Wrestlemania 36 event that featured former New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski — from its training centre in Orlando without fans in the stands.

WWE CEO Vince McMahon has welcomed this decision with open arms. In an official statement, WWE stated “We believe it is now more important than ever to provide people with a diversion from these hard times. We are producing content on a closed set with only essential personnel in attendance following appropriate guidelines while taking additional precautions to ensure the health and wellness of our performers and staff. As a brand that has been woven into the fabric of society, WWE and its Superstars bring families together and deliver a sense of hope, determination, and perseverance.” Well, only time will tell the impact of making WWE an essential service in the USA. in other bizarre news, did you know Cow Dung Cakes Were Sold In The USA For ₹214?
