Uttar Pradesh Mountaineer Hoists Indian National Flag At Africa’s Highest Peak

On 72nd Republic Day, a mountaineer from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh made India proud from Africa. Mountaineer Nitish Singh scaled the highest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro, and hoisted the Indian National Flag from its topmost point. Mount Kilimanjaro is around  5,895 metres above sea level, and it is also the highest single free-standing mountain in the world. It is the world’s fourth most topographically prominent peak. On January 26, 2021, Nitish hoisted the tricolour atop the snow-capped Kilimanjaro at around 6:50 AM. He has also planned to climb top seven highest peaks in the world. Read on to know more.

 

UP Man Hoists Tricolour From Mt.Kilimanjaro On Republic Day

Nitish Singh, a mountaineer from Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur hoisted the Indian National Flag from the top of Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro, at around 6:50 AM on Republic Day 2021. Nitish made a post on Twitter, stating, “With the blessings of all of you, on January 26, Republic Day, at 6.50 AM, the pride of India hoisted the tricolour on Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest peak of the continent of Africa. With the support of all of you, the name of the country, state and Gorakhpur has been elevated at the international level.” He also has plans to scale many other highest peaks across the globe. He said, “People have supported me to overcome difficulties. Now I aim to scale the top seven highest peaks of the world.”
