The train journey from Vizag to Araku through the lush green Eastern ghats can be an experience of a lifetime. The train passes through over 50 tunnels and 84 bridges. It rises steeply from 5.6 meters to a lofty 996 meters at India’s second highest railway station, Shimliguda. On one side of the track, lies the alluring valley. A Ride Over The Borra Caves

Araku is roughly 4 hours away from Vizag via train. After the Borra Guhalu station, the train will pass above the majestic borra caves. The train will take a semi-circular turn through a bridge. As you get nearer to the caves, you can also spot gorgeous stalactites and stalagmites hanging from the rocks. The train will take halts at a few stations on the way too. You can buy idly, sambar and other local food from the stations. Vendors selling tea and samosas also board the trains at the intermediate stations.
