  • Some people also report fungus-induced swelling of the lips, mouth, and throat, which can cause difficulty in breathing.

3. Hallucinations

There are certain mushrooms that are composed of psilocin and psilocybin ingredients that can induce hallucinations. A hallucination is a state in which a person is dazed. Mushrooms alter perceptions of reality for some time after consumption. Individuals experience this effect within 20 minutes of ingestion.

4. Psychiatric disorders

Psychiatric disorders are the most severe side effects caused by mushrooms in certain people. Psychiatric disorders such as great anxiety, and panic attacks occur after ingesting mushrooms. Although, it happens with some people only but, the range can be from mild to extreme.

5. Diarrhoea

Some people get diarrhea immediately after eating mushrooms. Mushrooms are not for everyone. It is important to see a doctor if you experience gastrointestinal problems after eating mushrooms.
