World’s Largest International Crafts Fair Is Back In Delhi NCR! It’s Time For Surajkund Mela 2020!

Surajkund Mela is back in Delhi NCR with even more colours than last year if that’s even possible. Art, craft, games, rides and retail, this mela is Delhi’s throwback to Diwali season. Of course, we can’t go a whole year without Diwali and what better time to celebrate than February? All the festivities are (supposedly) over. Everyone is bummed about New Year’s Even ending. This mela is the perfect way to cheer us up.

What Is It

Surajkund Mela is also known as the International Crafts Mela. The aim of this festival is to promote local culture and crafts. Handicrafts, handlooms and Indian craftspeople display their expertise. Artisans get much needed recognition by a worldwide community. Artists from across the globe also get a chance to participate here. Every year, the fest focuses on one state. This year is a special treat because most people adore the chosen state of Himachal Pradesh! Renowned folk artists and cultural groups take over the Chaupals and the open-air theatres with enthralling performances. The food stalls carry Delhi NCR’s favourite street foods, kebab places, chole bhature and Dilli’s dil. If you were planning a food walk, just go here and get the best of everything on minimum effort!

What’s More

Over a million foreign tourists visit this esteemed festival every year. The numbers only seem to be going upwards. Foreigners go crazy looking at India’s vibrance all in one place. International travellers make it a point not to miss out on this. Surajkund Mela 2020 is the 34th edition of a tradition that started in 1987. The total count last year was at 14 lakh visitors. It’s organised by Union Ministries of Tourism, Textiles, Culture, External Affairs, Department of Tourism, Government of Haryana and Haryana Tourism Corporation with the Surajkund Mela Authority. Gear Up!
