You Can Soon Take A Eco Tour Bus Ride To Experience Chandigarh’s Forests

Chandigarh was Late Jawaharlal Nehru’s dream city and is beautifully nestled in the foothills of the Shivalik ranges. It is regarded as one of India’s finest twentieth-century attempts in urban planning and modern architecture. The place is not only famous for its architecture and cleanliness but also for its green cover. Soon the Forest Department will begin, an ‘Eco Tour Bus’ to various forest areas of the city.

Promoting Tourism And Raising Environmental Awareness

The Forest Department has decided to begin an ‘Eco Tour Bus’ to various forest areas of Chandigarh in order to promote tourism and raise awareness regarding the environment. The forest areas will be closed from July 1 to October 2 ceasing all the forest activities due to rains and also as it is the season of regeneration of flora and fauna and breeding season of animals. Hence the service will begin only after the monsoon ends and will operate twice or thrice a week for which tourists will have to pay a requisite fee. The bus excursion will leave from Sukhna Lake and pass via Butterfly Park in Sector 26, Peacock Park in Sector 39, the Botanical Garden in Sarangpur, Parrot Park in Sector 21, and the Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary (Nepli/Kansal) before arriving at the lake.
