Earlier this month, Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Amor Mottley announced that Barbados government is developing a 12-month Barbados Welcome Stamp. Barbados Offers 12-Month Welcome Stamp To Encourage Foreign Tourists To Work Remotely From The Island For A Year

Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Amor Mottley announced that they are developing a 12-month Barbados Welcome Stamp. This is a special visa especially for remote workers who want to trade home for island life for up to a year at a time. This stamp is in the final stages of development further details are awaited. When it comes to beautiful islands, you can book your own private island in the Maldives ₹52,000 per person.

The PM announced that this visa will “allow people from the United States, Europe, and Latin America to come and do their jobs digitally for a couple of months. And then go back home if they feel they can work better in a more relaxed atmosphere such as next to a beach.” The proposal is a direct response to current COVID-19 travel restrictions, in which lengthy, mandated quarantines restrict short-term travel.

Barbados Reopened For Tourism On July 12

Who wouldn’t want to work from a beach? Also, working beside the ocean can be a great stimulant to boost one’s mood and health. Both of which can suffer under self-isolation. At the same time, the stamp would also help jump-start the Caribbean island’s economy by bringing in additional tourism dollars for local businesses.

According to the World Travel and Tourism Council Barbados is among the top 20 countries most dependent on travel and tourism as a source of GDP. The visa is in the final stages of development. The Caribbean island began welcoming international travellers back on July 12, when air travel to Barbados is expected to recommence.
