Japan is a beautiful country that attracts millions of tourists every year. Especially during the Sakura season right now. However, the country remains a dream destination for many of us, especially seeing how expensive travelling here can be. Thankfully, an X (formerly Twitter) user shared a budget-friendly guide that will allow you to plan a Japan trip in ₹1-1.3 lakhs for around 10 days! Information About Flights, Visa & Accommodation for A Budget Japan Trip

X (formerly Twitter) user, @tan_ya_, recently visited Japan and of course, many people asked her how much a trip to the “Land Of The Rising Sun” cost her. So, being a helpful Netizen, she shared a rough estimate that suggested a trip to Japan for a solo traveller can cost around ₹1 – 1.3 lakh for 10 days. That’s not all, she posted some well-laid-out information and a breakdown of the budget to help you plan better.

According to her post, it’s best to book flights to Japan during the sale season, especially for airlines like VietJet Air and ANA. These flights can cost you around ₹40,000 if booked on sale. Otherwise, it can be anywhere around ₹60,000 in a no-sale period. Furthermore, she mentions that you can get an e-visa to Japan for ₹1,300. She even shared details about SIM plans and the internet in this post.

She also shared the hostel budget in the post. According to Tania, if you book a trip to Japan at least two months in advance, then you can get hostels for around ₹2,000-2,5000.

Details About Internal Commute, Food & More

Further in her post, Tania mentioned the budget for inter and intra-city commutes. One can take the Shinkansen, regular trains, and also buses to commute inter-city in Japan.

However, it is important to note that intra-city travel in Japan can be expensive. So, do take note of that.

Coming to food, Tania notes that a good meal can cost you around ₹400-600. She even explained how there are limited vegetarian food options in Japan, while it is a haven for non-vegetarians.

She then went on to give a breakdown of shopping and souvenirs and how you can make the most of your trip by planning it in advance.
