Travel from Mumbai to Ahmedabad has just got shorter and faster. All thanks to India’s Vande Bharat express. The semi-high-speed train completed a successful trial run between the two cities. And that’s not all. The train ran between Ahmedabad and Mumbai at a record-breaking speed of 100 km/hr in 52 seconds.

Vande Bharat Completed Successful Trial Run

According to a report by Hindustan Times, Railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw hailed it as a proud moment for Indian Railways. The new Vande Bharat express completed its trial run with a green signal from the Railway Safety Commissioner. Earlier, Indian Railways announced that the new semi-high-speed train ran at 180 kmph without even shaking a fully loaded glass of water. Incredibly, the train reached a record-breaking speed of 100 kmph in just 52 seconds. While the earlier version accomplished the same speed in 54.6 seconds.

With Stoppages, It Takes 5 Hours Between Ahmedabad & Mumbai

The Vande Bharat train covered 491 km distance from Ahmedabad to Mumbai in 5 hours and 14 minutes. But the train did not stop for any breaks. Moreover, it travelled at a maximum speed of 130 kmph. The return journey took 5 hours and 4 minutes. With stoppages, the train shall take 6 hours for travellers to reach their destination between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. Following the successful trial run, Indian Railways shall produce 72 more semi-high speed trains. So, are you looking forward to travelling on this train?
