Abu Dhabi’s first eco-retreat is open, and you can now spend a night amid nature with your loved ones. The Pura eco-retreat is located on Jubail Island and offers a picturesque backdrop of nature, while you enjoy the little pleasures of life. Being an adults-only hideaway, it’s three kilometres through Jubail Island’s mangroves.

Pura Retreat Is Fully Luxurious And Fully Equipped With All Amenities

Pura retreat is one-of-its-kind. The exterior walls of its main building are painted by artist Fatima Al Hammadi and adorned with a purple wildlife mural. The entrance to the retreat designed keeping minimalism in mind. The retreat also has a recreation room which is due to open soon and will offer you a space to play games, read books and unwind.

The Place Is Perfect For Those Looking For A Digital Detox

For the domes, they are luxurious and can’t get better than this. Each done has a fire pit. Outside, a colourful cabana offers a private spot for relaxing, accompanied by endless mangrove views. However, if you are looking forward to visiting this retreat, then you must know that this place is perfect for those looking for a digital detox. There’s no Wi-Fi in the domes. Instead, there are lots of complimentary activities for your entertainment. You can enjoy fat biking, kayaking, yoga, stargazing, birdwatching and more at this heavenly place. There’s also a private beach and access to the water for those staying overnight.

For the food, you can enjoy breakfast on the terrace behind the main villa. A private oval-shaped pool backed by the mangroves sits beside a terrace where food is served under billowy white shades. Whereas for dinner, beyond the terrace is the dining area. Dinner bookings are also available for the public, but reservations are a must.

Pura Is Created With As Little Environmental Footprint As Possible

While everything is fancy and nice- the best thing about this retreat is that Pura has taken enough steps to reduce its carbon footprint and give back to the local community. Located in a protected area, Pura is created with a little environmental footprint as possible. All upcycled materials are used, and there’s a strict no to motorised activities on the water. The retreat is a car-free zone- guests need to park their cars nearby Jubail Mangrove Park, from where they are picked in golf carts.

If you think that’s it, then let us tell you that the retreats also give you a chance to do some wildlife spotting. Pick up binoculars and spot over 90 types of birds including flamingo, herons, dunlin and whimbrel. Not only the birds, but you can also enjoy the sight of frogs, seagrass, spiders and countless species of fish. Visitors with a keen eye can spot mangrove snappers, silver mullets and milkfish and crabs, including ghost crabs and blue swimmer crabs. Some of these creatures are only found in mangrove forests, making the area unique.
