Dubai Allows Overnight Camping, Dining & Entertainment With Renewed Guidelines

Camping plays an essential role in Dubai culture! And now soon tourists and residents will be able to explore the outdoors camps across the city. The camps will not be limited to the deserts. It will also include on mountains, valleys or a nature reserve. This new adventure is a part of the new camping experiences that the emirate will be rolling out, along with a set of tourist camp guidelines.

Dubai Tourism Department Discuss The New Guidelines With 100 Tour Operators

Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing gathered around 100 tour operators for a virtual meeting to discuss guidelines for the tourist camps. In terms of campaign experiences, besides the usual overnight stays, the experiences will also include dining and other recreational activities. All this will come under the new regulations being developed by the tour operators. The main goal here is to show people how Dubai offers a perfect blend of rich traditions and ultra-modern life.

Helal Saeed Almarri, director-general of Dubai Tourism, said, 

“As we continue to take a measured and coordinated approach towards a full reopening of the tourism sector, the strategic directive by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, on regulating tourist camp operations is…a reflection of our commitment to working closely with our stakeholders to build a stronger, more sustainable and resilient tourism economy.”

In terms of camps, they will be divided into different categories, depending on the type of camp. Each criterion will have its rules and list of requirements. Irrespective of the camps, all services will be communicated to the guests. The camp operators will follow all the necessary health, sanitation, safety and security requirements.

The New Set Of Guidelines Will Be Shared Shortly 

The guidelines for the same will be finalized shortly. It will be settled after receiving the feedback from the operators and other partners, including government entities.

Dubai Tourism will continue to work with its stakeholders and partners to further strengthen Dubai’s destination proposition and ensure that it stays at the forefront of the world’s widely recommended cities for global travellers,” Almarri said.

During the virtual meeting, the authorities also shared some advice on several concerns, including permit renewals and fee waivers, and additional information on camp activities, facilities and services, and ways of increasing the size of existing camps.
