Air India Adds 17 New Flights To London. Here Are The Cities That Will See An Increase In Connectivity

This airline has been in the news a lot lately, and not for the most savoury of reasons. Recently, a woman found a massive stone in the meal that she was provided on the flight. The worst of all was when an inebriated passenger urinated on another female passenger. However, this time around, the news is not negative. Air India has decided to add 17 new flights to the roster of planes heading towards the city of London.

Air India Adds 17 New Flights

Today, Air India announced that it will be adding 17 new flights to the roster of London-bound planes from India. 12 of these 17 flights will be heading to Gatwick Airport, which is the second largest airport in the United Kingdom. The rest of the five flights will be heading to London’s Heathrow Airport.

Air India will send flights thrice a week to Gatwick Airport from Indian cities like Goa, Amritsar, Ahmedabad, and Kochi. This will make Air India the only airline to offer services that fly directly from India to Gatwick Airport.

Five Additional Flights To Heathrow

To Heathrow Airport, the airline is planning on adding five additional flights. These flights will be from two of the biggest cities in India, Mumbai and Delhi. As of now, Delhi has a total of 14 flights that land at London’s Heathrow Airport. Here, Air India is planning on adding 3 additional flights. This means that now, there are a total of 17 flights that head from Delhi to Heathrow.

From Mumbai, Air India is planning to add two additional flights. As of now, Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) has a total of 12 flights heading to London’s Heathrow Airport. After the addition, however, the number of flights reading to London will be 14.

This will make travelling to and within the UK easier since both Heathrow and Gatwick provide direct access to the road network and public transport options.
