And if you have waffles on your mind, then the Nutcracker serves up three different kinds of it. Top up the classic with maple syrup and silky melted butter, or go the chocolate way with a dark chocolate variant or sinful Nutella.

2. Kala Ghoda Cafe
The small cafe that is tucked away in one of the many tiny streets in Kala Ghoda is a popular haunt among locals and artists alike. With very few tables, you might just have to wait for a bit before you get to indulge in the dark chocolate waffle that they are so popularly known for. And if you have been following through with your resolution of staying fit this year, then you can go for their Desi waffles which are crafted out of gluten and wheat-free batter and flour that have been sourced all the way from Uttarakhand. And yes, you can have them with chocolate. Don’t worry, it doesn’t count as cheating.

3. Le15 Cafe
The brain-child of the macaron queen of India, Pooja Dhingra, the cafe in Colaba exudes Parisian vibes and cooks up some really good food. And they also have a myriad of savoury waffles, which will leave you spoilt for choice. The cafe, which was previously headed by Chef Pablo Naranjo, has a waffle named after him. Called Pablo’s Waffle, the whacky dish is an eccentric combination of waffles, sriracha, poached eggs, and maple syrup. And as crazy as that sounds, it tastes spectacular. But if you are one to follow conventional paths, then the Pork waffle is right up your alley. The slow-cooked pork, along with a dash of teriyaki sauce, on a crispy waffle is the stuff of dreams.

The best place to hit up when you are looking for a quick fix or even when you are in the mood for dessert, the chain that is spread across the city. It makes some really good waffles. Our money is on the KitKat Waffle, which is the perfect combination of a crispy yet pillowy waffle and good ol’ KitKat. Really, how can you say no to that?

Leaping Windows is your go-to addition if you like your meal with a side of comics. With an exhaustive library in the basement that houses some of the best comics out there, the eatery also whips up some really good food. The waffles on their menu definitely caught our eye, and we couldn’t help but sample them all because, well, can you really say no to that? However, the one that has our hearts is Malgudi Days. With a nostalgia-inducing name like that, it just had to have some really cool toppings. And that’s where the pineapple, jam and jaggery sauce come in. Oh, and did we mention that it also comes topped with desiccated coconut? We need our fix ASAP!
