Whether we’ve dined at P.F. Chang’s or not, we’ve all heard of the legendary American restaurant chain, celebrated for its fusion of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and other cuisines. Tales of its exceptional flavours have traversed far and wide, especially among those who’ve journeyed to destinations like the USA or Dubai. With its recent arrival in Mumbai, the fervour in India has reached new heights, leaving many of us eagerly anticipating its presence in our own cities. Well, Delhiites, rejoice! The splendid realm of Asian delights has now found a new home in our very own DLF Cyberhub. Ahead of its official launch this Sunday, I had the privilege of attending last night’s unveiling and indulging in the array of coveted dishes firsthand.

P.F. Chang’s, the esteemed leader of elevated Asian cuisine, has indeed achieved a noteworthy milestone in its expansion across the Indian subcontinent. Upon stepping into the exquisitely crafted restaurant, I sensed the promise of a delightful evening ahead. From the enchanting cherry blossom ceiling to the lively murals adorning the walls, and a resplendent gold bar anchoring it all together, every facet exuded a welcoming ambiance. The perpetual smiles on the faces of the staff, from chefs to servers, further enhanced the experience.

Discovering The Signature Dishes

Seated with a menu brimming with delectable offerings, the tantalising aroma wafting from the kitchen enticed my senses for the culinary journey ahead. I started the evening with a comforting bowl of Hot & Sour soup, its flavours simply sublime. Then came the moment I had eagerly awaited—the arrival of P.F. Chang’s famed Original Dynamite Shrimp. As the succulent tempura-battered shrimp graced my table, I knew I was about to discover a new obsession. These delectable shrimps truly lived up to their acclaim. *Spoiler alert: Nothing surpassed them.*

Encouraged by the P.F. Chang’s team, I sampled their cult-favourite Chang’s Chicken Lettuce wraps, and I’m delighted I did. This seemingly simple yet immensely flavourful dish stole the spotlight of the evening, following closely behind the shrimp. While I opted for the chicken variation, a vegetarian option was also available.

Moving on to Steamed Edamame, unfortunately, they fell short of expectations. However, the team’s receptiveness to feedback was commendable, transforming the edamame into a delectable snack. Craving a refreshing libation to complement the culinary delights, I discovered that the alcohol menu had yet to be introduced. Nonetheless, the Mango Chilli Kombucha proved to be a delightful alternative, offering a zesty kick that paired perfectly with the dishes that came next.

An Epicurean Adventure

With an extensive selection of dumplings, I struggled to choose from, I finally settled for the Edamame Dumplings and Chicken and Chilli Oil Dumplings. While my inclination typically leans towards non-vegetarian options, the flavourful edamame filling instantly won me over. Served in a chilli-spiced broth, they were tender, juicy, and utterly satisfying. As a newfound sushi enthusiast, I couldn’t resist trying the Kung Pao Dragon Roll sushi, a visually stunning and equally delicious creation topped with crushed peanuts.

Feeling satiated yet eager to explore more, I took a brief respite from dining to converse with Ramit Bharti Mittal, the visionary behind P.F. Chang’s arrival in town. A gracious host, he shared insights into the unique offerings tailored for the discerning palate of the Gurgaon market. From expanded sushi options to enticing entrées, every detail had been meticulously curated to cater to the preferences of NCR residents. Emphasising the importance of indulging in main courses, the team implemented portion control to ensure patrons experienced the full spectrum of their irresistible menu. To cater to Indian tastes, additional protein options such as paneer and tofu have also been introduced.

Navigating The Diverse Menu

Inspired by Mittal’s passion and the team’s dedication to making sure every patron explored the main course menu as well, I decided to try the Spicy Kimchi Fried Rice, Mapo Tofu, and Orange Chicken. Inquiring about the spice level of the Orange Chicken, I was assured of its predominantly sweet profile. True to their word, it was a harmonious blend of sweetness and crunch, a true delight to the palate. The combination of Spicy Kimchi Fried Rice and Mapo Tofu proved to be a winning pair, each bite savoured with relish.

With the evening drawing to a close, we decided to conclude on a sweet note with the Great Wall of Chocolate—a heavenly layered chocolate cake served with fresh berries. It was the perfect finale to an evening brimming with culinary delights.

P.F. Chang’s upholds the ancient tradition of wok cooking. It is a method dating back 2,000 years, which preserves the essence and flavour of each ingredient. This tradition was palpable in every dish I tried, a testament to the restaurant’s commitment to culinary excellence.

Starting tomorrow, P.F. Chang’s eagerly awaits the opportunity to serve you. With its inviting ambiance, authentic flavours, and meticulous attention to detail, it has not only become my favoured spot in town but is poised to capture your heart as well, once you experience it firsthand.
