The entire world came to a halt at a point when the Covid-19 pandemic struck the world. No one travelled anywhere unless because of a major emergency. As months and years passed and the number of positive cases dropped, the governments started relaxing the restrictions one by one. The usual traffic on every flight, airline route, and the airport has not returned to the pre-pandemic numbers and it will surely take a few more months to recover properly mostly in the upcoming holiday months. Amid all these things, the Delhi-Mumbai airline route became the busiest route in India.

Passenger Footfalls Are Fluctuating Due To Various Reasons:

Different domestic airlines in India witnessed crazy shifts in various routes all around. Domestic air traffic has been on a roll in different places. In some places, the passenger footfall took a spike after the Covid-19 positive cases started decreasing. Tourist destinations such as Goa, Bagdogra, Srinagar, and more experienced passengers in massive numbers as people are finally taking trips are 2 years. In fact, the numbers increased more than the pre-pandemic times at some airports in India.

On the other hand, in most places, the numbers of passengers dropped mostly from the mid of June 2022. There are many reasons behind this sudden dip in numbers. The price of air turbine fuel increased a lot over some time and is now having the highest cost of ₹1.41 lakh per kiloliter in the Indian capital. Another reason is rupees hitting an all-time low against the US dollar. Airlines are conducting flights and utilising the most of demand now.

The Delhi-Mumbai airline route emerged to be the busiest route in India. The Mumbai-Delhi route experiences 1508 flights and the Delhi-Mumbai airline route experiences a frequency of 1478 flights. In the month of July 2022, only 3 Indian airline routes managed to surpass the frequency of 1000 flights. As per a report of the OAG aviation, the Delhi-Srinagar airline route sits at the position of the second Indian busiest airline route as an immense number of travellers are taking a trip to Srinagar at the moment.
