Yesterday, mercury in Delhi dropped to 3.8° Celsius, which was the coldest morning that the National Capital had witnessed this season. That was until this morning. Today, the mercury dropped lower than yesterday and Delhi witnessed its temperature drop to 3.6° Celsius today. This makes today the coldest morning that Delhi has witnessed this season. Here are all of the important details that you would need to know about this particular coldest morning in Delhi.

Delhi Records Yet Another Coldest Morning Today

According to an article which was recently published by WION, the temperature in Delhi hit 3.6° Celsius on the morning of January 13, Saturday. This is the coldest morning of the season that the National Capital has recorded.

This temperature is lower than yesterday when the mercury hit 3.8° Celsius. This makes yesterday the second coldest morning of the season in Delhi. That’s not all! Today, parts of Delhi, like the Lodhi Road area, hit temperatures as low as 3.4° Celsius.

Air Quality Drops To Very Poor, Smog Covers The City

As per the WION article, the Indian Meteorological Department or the IMD earlier issued a red alert for the northern parts of India like Haryana, Delhi and Punjab. It even added that these regions might be covered in the thick fog in the coming three or four days.

The air quality in the NCR has dropped to very poor and many people have shared pictures and videos of fog which has blanketed the city. On Friday, the fog in some parts was so dense that the visibility dropped to zero metres.
