Delhiites! Prepare Yourself To Leave Early For Airport As Key Road To Shut For A Year

Listen up, Delhiites! If you have a flight to catch from Delhi airport, then prepare yourself to leave your homes 10-15 minutes early as the key road leading to Delhi airport is going to be shut for a year. The road connecting Rangpuri on National Highway 8 will be closed for almost a year beginning this Wednesday i.e. 19th February 2020, on account of the airport expansion work.

Delhi airport on Tuesday issued an advisory to passengers to leave their homes 10-15 minutes earlier if they want to catch their flights as a key road will be closed for a year to enable construction work of the Eastern Cross Taxiway (ECT), under the Phase 3A expansion plan of the government. This is the road that connects Rangpuri on National Highway 8.

Traffic is definitely going to get disturbed on the road for almost a year. The traffic from Rangpuri roundabout will be diverted to Central Spine Road, connecting Terminals 2 and 3 from Mahipalpur, the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) said in a press note.

In fact, for the smooth movement of passengers coming to terminals 2 and 3 from Shiva Murti, Dwarka, and Gurugram, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has built and commissioned ‘Radisson Bypass Road’, connecting Rangpuri with the airport via Central Spine road.

The DIAL has also put up signage at strategic locations regarding diversion for the convenience of passengers.

“The diversion is unlikely to have any significant impact on the commuting time of the airport-bound passengers. However, they are advised to take 10-15 minutes of extra time while commuting towards Delhi airport to be on the safer side,” Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) added.

So, for now, do remember to leave 15 minutes before for the Delhi airport to reach in time for your flight!
