Dog-Lover Karnataka CM To Launch Online System To Adopt Stray Dogs In The State

It’s no secret that the Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is a dog lover. In 2021, a video circulated on the Internet, where the very teary-eyed CM performed funeral rites for his pet dog Sunny. His love for animals knows no bounds. And now the Karnataka Chief Minister will soon launch an online system that lets people adopt stray dogs in the state and offer them homes.

Karnataka To Get Online Platform To Adopt Stray Dogs

Recently, Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai presented the state’s last budget in the Legislative Assembly. During this time the Chief Minister revealed that they shall develop an online platform to not only take care of stray dogs but also allow people to adopt them. According to a report by NDTV, he stated that this is a great opportunity to encourage dog lovers to adopt by registering their names.

The Chief Minister also points out that the National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources (NBAGR) recognises Mudhol Hound Dog Breed as an Indian native breed. So, in order to further develop this breed the state shall offer a grant of ₹5 crores. Moreover, violence against stray animals is a growing concern. So, in order to prevent atrocities against animals,  ₹ 5 crore grant is offered to the Animal Welfare Board.

The CM Encourages Dog Lovers To Adopt

Bangalore will also house mobile veterinary clinics across the city, launched by the Board. So, Bangaloreans and residents of Karnataka, you can soon adopt stray animals of Indie breeds and give them a cosy, safe and comfortable home. Instead of buying exotic breeds of animals, give these stray puppers lots of love and make them part of your homes and families. And it’s not us, like you read earlier the Karnataka Chief Minister himself tells you to do this.

Earlier, the CM watched ‘777 Charlie’, a Kannada film starring Rakshit Shetty that revolved around a man and his companion, his dog. The CM was touched by the film and came out of the screening teary-eyed. So, are you excited about the launch of this online platform? Don’t you think it’s just pawesome?
