How To Avail 35% Discount On Your Traffic Fines?

On Monday, Abu Dhabi police unveiled a new scheme.  It states that people can pay up their traffic fines early and receive a 35% reduction. There are certain criteria to qualify for this discount. The following traffic fine should be paid within 60 days of the recorded offence.

This reduction, however, does not apply to offences classified as “dangerous. Motorists in Abu Dhabi will receive a 25% discount on their total fine. But this will happen only if they pay within one year of committing the offence.

How Can You Start Paying Traffic Fines In Instalments?

The Dubai police have clarified the requirements to avail of this service in a few easy steps:

  1. Install the Dubai Police App or visit their official website.
  2. Once done, follow by feeding one of the available options.
  3. Vehicle Number, Traffic file number or driver licence number.
  4. Click on the option termed Direct Discount Service
  5. Now enter your personal details such as bank account number & emirates ID
  6. Accept the direct discount service’s terms and conditions.
  7. Further, you’ll have to wait for acceptance or denial of the request sent to the Central Bank. You’ll receive a notification in either case.
  8. Your penalties must be worth AED 5,000 for private entities and AED 20,000 for corporate organizations.
    Pay the required amount of 25% of the entire penalty.
  9. Based on the scale of your penalty, the instalments can last up to 24 months. There is an AED 100 fee that must be complete if the instalment if you are going to delay the payment.
  10. The cost increases to AED200 if you are a business or institution.
  11. The first instalment is due after 30 days, and there shouldn’t be more than 3 months between them.

Conditions To Avail This Service

There is a certain limitation over the amount of fine. It should be above Dhs 5000 for individuals and Dhs 20000 for companies to pay in instalments.
For the instalment facility, you will require to pay 25% of the total penalty.

  1. A charge of Dh100 for an individual & Dh 200 for firms, is mandatory if you desire to postpone the instalment.
  2. For each cheque, you’ll also have to pay a Dh10 Knowledge charge and a Dh10 Innovation cost.
  3. You need to fill out the application form before 15 days of the due date.
  4. The span between instalments should not exceed three months.
