Emirates Promises Travelers A Free Funeral If Infected With Covid

As borders begin to open around the world, you can take-off to your next destination with confidence! Emirates is the world’s first airline to provide free health cover for travellers diagnosed with Covid-19 during travel.  The new initiative was kicked off under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai.

Travellers can book their flights on emirates.com or with a travel agent and will automatically receive free global cover for COVID-19 related costs. The cover is valid for 31 days from the moment you take your first flight, and it covers you even if you travel onwards to another city.

And that’s not all! In a recent announcement, Emirates has also announced to provide travellers a free funeral if infected with Covid. Meanwhile, Here Are The Travel & Testing Rules For Those Travelling Abroad This Summer.

What Does The Emirates Travel Insurance Cover?

In case a passenger tests positive for Covid during their journey, Emirates will cover medical expenses, up to AED 650 ($176,000). In addition, the airline will also pay AED 430 ($118) per day for quarantine costs – such as a hotel room – for up to two weeks. And, in case the worst happens, Emirates will also offer AED 6492 (€1,500) for a passenger’s funeral. The insurance come automatically with every booking, and does not incur any additional cost. Passengers who are diagnosed during travels can call the free hotline number +971 4 2708825 or send a WhatsApp message +971 56 3589937 to get support and to use your cover.

All Passengers Must Provide A Negative Covid Test Before Landing In Dubai

The UAE government announced that a PCR test will be mandatory for ALL passengers arriving at DXB. The rule applies to all tourists, residents, transit passengers, and Emiratis. The PCR test is mandatory for all inbound passengers, regardless of the country they are flying in from.

In addition, authorities also confirmed that passengers traveling to Europe, UK, as well as other countries that require a PCR test, must get tested prior to departure. The test will be valid for 96 hours from the date of testing. The recent rule has been put in place in order to curb the spread of Covid. However, kids under 12 and those with other health conditions are exempt from the rule. The new requirements apply to all airlines operating in the UAE.
