Emiratis, You Can Now Travel To Japan Visa-Free From November 1

Gone are the days of scheduling your visa appointment or standing in long queues. Soon, United Arab Emirates nationals won’t need to apply for a visa in advance to visit Japan. Beginning November 1, Emirati nationals will be able to visit Japan visa-free. Their stay can extend up to 30 days without a visa for leisure or business. The initiative has a detailed motive to launch this service for Emiratis.

According to a statement released by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday, the agreement intends to increase bilateral commerce, business, and investment.

A 50-year-old alliance between the UAE and Japan is still being strengthened. Since the 1950s, the UAE has been one of Japan’s primary oil suppliers, currently meeting 20% of its requirements.

In order to achieve its goal of strategic relationships, the UAE has looked to various Asian nations, notably Japan. Over $14 billion has been invested by Japanese companies in the United Arab Emirates.

One of the first nations to establish diplomatic ties with the UAE was Japan in 1971.

Who Are Eligible To Fall Under This Category?

The visa waiver deal goes into effect as visitors return to Japan after over two years of rigorous COVID-19 restrictions. The three immunisations must be approved by Japan, and the traveller must show proof of a negative PCR test performed within 72 hours before departure or a vaccination certificate.

So now is the time to take the plunge if you were waiting to travel to  Japan.
