A 50-year-old alliance between the UAE and Japan is still being strengthened. Since the 1950s, the UAE has been one of Japan’s primary oil suppliers, currently meeting 20% of its requirements.
In order to achieve its goal of strategic relationships, the UAE has looked to various Asian nations, notably Japan. Over $14 billion has been invested by Japanese companies in the United Arab Emirates.
One of the first nations to establish diplomatic ties with the UAE was Japan in 1971.
